The AgriInvest Program is administered by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC).   The program is designed to help these businesses manage minor income shortfalls.  The Ag business must be eligible to participate and must apply to AAFC to participate in this program.

Agriculture businesses can contribute up to 1.50% of their Allowable Net Sales into an AgriInvest account and receive a matching contribution from the federal and provincial governments.  Withdrawals can be made at any time to assist with income shortfalls.  The Ag business can withdraw their portion without tax implications but are taxed on the government portion and any interest earned on all funds.  Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) handles the taxation and forms.
