Treasury Analyst

The Treasury Analyst is responsible for day-to-day corporate treasury operations and foreign exchange transactions. They will serve as a key member of the Accounting and Finance department and will provide sales support with treasury service to the branch network and will have responsibility for month end operating expense analysis.

In summary, the Treasury Analyst will:

  • Report to the Senior Manager, Accounting.
  • Prepare and submit monthly securitization reporting.
  • Recommend wholesale trading decisions within exposure limits based on trends and market conditions.
  • Work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment while collaborating with various stakeholders including executive level managers and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professional and confidentiality.
As the successful candidate, you’ll have responsibility for:

  • Monitoring foreign exchange inquiries from branch staff and confirming outgoing domestic and international payment settlements.
  • Providing a monthly review of variances in regards to operating expenses.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations, maintaining the fixed asset sub ledger, calculating the accrued interest allowance and cashback mortgage expenses.
  • Assist in the creation of the fixed asset budget, annual budget and quarterly forecasts. 
  • Assist in the reconciliation of leasing sales for the finance and leasing department.
The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a related position.
  • A sound understanding of financial market instruments including money market, derivative products and retail banking products.
  • Exceptional analytical research skills with high-level attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and objectivity.
  • Self-starter and results oriented person with the ability to use critical thinking and problem solving in order to determine and initiate approaches required to identify trends and draw appropriate conclusions.
These additional skills are considered assets too:

  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
